Its not a secret that alot of people these days are getting hair extensions. Whether its for length, thickness, or a couple around the sides of your face, fake hair is the way to go if you cant wait for your hair to grow. My hair really isnt that short, but i get hair extensions so that my hair is longer and thicker.

Ive had 2 sets of hair extensions. The first set i ever got were weave in and they were great throughout the 2 months that i had them in for because as soon as i dyed them, a week later they were knotting up and really frustrating me. ive learnt now that because it was the first time ive ever had/tried hair extensions i probably wasnt looking after them the way i should have been. i took them out that weekend. The 2nd set i ever got i got them 3 days before christmas and i still have them in now and its been almost 8 months since chritmas. I decided to dye them about 2 and a half months ago, but learnt from my previous mistake and took care of them better than i had with the ones beforehand. at the moment, they have thinned out quite a bit because iv had them for quit a while, so im thinking about taking them out.
i just wanted too share a few tips that i have learnt about looking after your hair extensions, because the more you look after them, the longer they will last :)
Before you wash your hair, make sure you brush out all tangles. When shampooing your extensions, make sure you just run the shampoo through them, DONT rub them.
When you get out of the shower dry your hair with the towel softly making sure you dont rub your hair rough with the towel. then get a wide tooth comb and starting at the bottom and working your way to the top, comb the knots out gently. you may blowdry them, but its best to let them dry naturally.
When swimming in chlorine or salt water, its best to wear a swimming cap or in a ponytail because the water will mat ur extensions up.
Use a good leave-in conditioner. But dont use excessive amounts. To much condioner and hair products can cause build up and tangling.
Hope these tips are helpful :)
