thinking about getting a spray tan?!

Summer is just around the corner, and I know I prefer to have a fake tan than a real one. I know it becomes pricey but Id prefer to pay for one then risk getting sun cancer. So here are some tips if you are thinking about getting a spray tan or just doing it yourself at home.

  • EXFOLIATE: you need to remove dead skin cells otherwise your tan will appear patchy and un-even. So grab yourself an exfoliating glove and an exfoliating body wash and get scrubbing.
  • SHOWER: it is important to have a shower just before your appointment or if you are doing it yourself so you can be sure that you have removed any excess oils, makeup, moisturizer, deodorant.
  • TIME: you can get spray tans that you only have to leave on between 2-8 hours, but I prefer to get one in the afternoon and leave it on overnight. that way it gives it time to develop. But it really depends on how dark you like your tan
  • CLOTHING: make sure you wear dark, loose clothing. If you wear a white dress to your appointment the tan may stain it. and dont wear a bra, as the straps will cause lines on your brand new tan. Also either get a disposable g-string (they usually give you one) because if you wear normal undies you will be able too see a big patch of your un-tanned skin. While if you wear a g-string it wont be as noticeable.
  • MOISTURISE: they say your skin sheads dead skin cells every night, But keeping your skin moisturised will help with reducing patchiness as your tan fades.

I hope you all found these tips helpfull :)

Hair transformation!

I finally got my hair done so I thought I would share it with you all.
I had it black for a few months but got sick of looking like a walking zombie lol so I got the black stripped out and went a warm brown. I got extensions that matched the color perfectly aswell so Im very impressed at how my hair is looking at the moment and how healthy looking it looks and feels.

Heres a before picture:

And a after picture:

I think im going to have to put a color on it soon though as its faded a bit (yes the post is a bit late lol) but will post a photo when I get that done.

do you prefer black or brown hair?

My new obsession!

So lately ive been seeing these bags that just catch my eye everytime I see one. They are known as Hermes bags.

Ive seen alot of celebrities using them such as the Kardashian girls, Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, Heidi Montag & many more.
I am absolutely in love with them.
Im a huge bargain shopper so when I saw the price I almost fainted LOL but I honestly think that they are totally worth the money. They range from $2,000 - $5,000
Here is the official Hermes website, hope you enjoy it as much as me :)

Kardashian Kolors

I have to admit that the Kardashians are my favourite family, other than my own of course hehe. But when i found out that they had a secret meeting with OPI i was interested to find out what was happening. Then about a week ago Khloe posted information about there line of nail polishes that launches on 25th of november this year. Im so excited to try them out and see how they look.

From top row left to right in the image above they are: All Kendall-ed Up, Sealed with a Kris, Kim-pletely In Love, Khloé Had a Little Lam-Lam, Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi, Rainbow in the S-kylie. And bottom row, left to right: Disco Dolls, Listen to Your Momager!, Wear Something Spar-kylie, It’s all about the Glam, Follow Me on Glitter, Kendall on the Katwalk, My Empire… My Rules.

I wonder what else the girls are capable of :)

How i look after my hair extensions!

Its not a secret that alot of people these days are getting hair extensions. Whether its for length, thickness, or a couple around the sides of your face, fake hair is the way to go if you cant wait for your hair to grow. My hair really isnt that short, but i get hair extensions so that my hair is longer and thicker.

Ive had 2 sets of hair extensions. The first set i ever got were weave in and they were great throughout the 2 months that i had them in for because as soon as i dyed them, a week later they were knotting up and really frustrating me. ive learnt now that because it was the first time ive ever had/tried hair extensions i probably wasnt looking after them the way i should have been. i took them out that weekend. The 2nd set i ever got i got them 3 days before christmas and i still have them in now and its been almost 8 months since chritmas. I decided to dye them about 2 and a half months ago, but learnt from my previous mistake and took care of them better than i had with the ones beforehand. at the moment, they have thinned out quite a bit because iv had them for quit a while, so im thinking about taking them out.

i just wanted too share a few tips that i have learnt about looking after your hair extensions, because the more you look after them, the longer they will last :)

  •  Before you wash your hair, make sure you brush out all tangles. When shampooing your extensions, make sure you just run the shampoo through them, DONT rub them.
  • When you get out of the shower dry your hair with the towel softly making sure you dont rub your hair rough with the towel. then get a wide tooth comb and starting at the bottom and working your way to the top, comb the knots out gently. you may blowdry them, but its best to let them dry naturally.
  • When swimming in chlorine or salt water, its best to wear a swimming cap or in a ponytail because the water will mat ur extensions up.
  • Use a good leave-in conditioner. But dont use excessive amounts. To much condioner and hair products can cause build up and tangling.

Hope these tips are helpful :)

Best body oil for your skin type!

I decided to do a little research on body oils to suit different skin types because i know myself that its very hard for me too find one that i like and my skin likes because my skin is very sensitive.

What i found was some natural recipes too make your own body oil in the comfort of your own home. I also like the fact that these have natural ingredients and are very fun too make. Even a fun activity too do with your friends or family.

To make the body oil put 20 ml of almond oil in a small glass jar (make sure the jar has been washed out thoroughly) and a tight lid. Add the ingredients that are listed under your skin type. then shake the jar and pour a little bit into your palm then apply to the rest of your body.

Normal skin
8 drops of lavender
6 drops geranium
2 drops chamomile

oily skin
10 drops lemon
6 drops geranium
4 drops sandalwood

dry skin
8 drops patchouli
4 drops geranium
2 drops carrot

sensitive skin
3 drops geranium
2 drops patchouli

Leave me a comment and let me know if you tried it and your thoughts on it.

Enjoy!! :)

HOTD

hello lovelies! so my mum is coming down today for my graduation were i will get my certificate 3 that actually says im a qualified hairdresser, so im pretty happy about that. I might buy a frame whilst we are shopping today so i can put it in that and hang it up in my room somewhere.

Because im new too blogging i thought i would post a hair of the day photo. But please excuse the fuzzy blurry photo as ive had to use webcam because my camera isnt that much better.
I used a VS sasoon curling wand. It gives a real ringlet looking curl but i took big sections and didnt leave it on the curler for long.

I also curled my hair this way because i wanted to wear my hair curly for tonight but i also wanted it too be loose flowy curls so i decided too wear this hairstyle when i go shopping aswell so it will loosen up by night time. I am hopefully purchasing a new camera today or very soon so the fuzzy photos wont be for too long :)
